We have finished the engine code and we are moving to the last part that we need to do before the release – template. Template for  ”Social Network Edition” is much more complicated. It will incorporate all social features to existing pages and it will get many new pages such as profile, wall/stream/feed,  messages,  alerts,  favorites, shares,  lists, community,  image albums, etc..

We have some beautiful things planned for it.

The problem was that this feature is usually not working correctly. It requires Flash to deal with clipboard and it’s implemented differently in different browsers. Even RetailMeNot (as of today 01/12/2011) is failing to do a “Copy” from IE9. All other implementations are even worse.
We have done it right. It will work in all browsers, it will work with Flash 9 and 10, it will show the regular links if flash not installed or very old.

Deals/Coupons Website Script – Local Coupons Edition (Beta)

It got several minor bug fixes, some UI improvements, speed optimizations and internal cleanups. There is a good chance that we are just one or two steps from the final release.

We could start taking upgrade requests at this point.

Please note, that the version 2 template is not compatible with V1.x. If you are current customer and you would like to upgrade your site you should be ready to upgrade you template or switch  to the new default one.

If we don’t bump in any major issues, the next build will be labeled as “Release Candidate” and at that point we will start taking custom template orders for the V2 engine as well as upgrade requests.

*Some items like user management, settings saving and template editing are disabled.

P.S. I know I will get a lot of responses to this post with the same question: “How can I get this template on my site right now?” Well, this template was build from scratch using the new V2 database and rendering engine. Adopting it to the v1.3.x will complicate it  and bring some performance and stability issues. The template will be available in multiple colors with any V2 upgrade or new order.

1. Free Hosted Edition. This is a very feature limited edition, that will be hosted on our servers. It will be paired with our free* datafeed subscription so anyone can have a place to start the deals/coupons website. There will be a separate post explaining “free” options in details.

2. Local Coupons Edition. It specifically designed for starting a coupon promotion site for your local businesses. You can  add local stores, create beautiful printable coupons with barcodes and custom designs, setup and manage subscription plans for the business owners, allow them to create stores and post their own coupons.
