The problem was that this feature is usually not working correctly. It requires Flash to deal with clipboard and it’s implemented differently in different browsers. Even RetailMeNot (as of today 01/12/2011) is failing to do a “Copy” from IE9. All other implementations are even worse.
We have done it right. It will work in all browsers, it will work with Flash 9 and 10, it will show the regular links if flash not installed or very old.

Its been a long time since the last v1.3 release. A lot of development efforts were invested in this totally redesigned and rebuild system. We made it faster, more efficient, more reliable, more customizable, easier to use and more convenient to work with.

It got several minor bug fixes, some UI improvements, speed optimizations and internal cleanups. There is a good chance that we are just one or two steps from the final release.

We could start taking upgrade requests at this point.

Please note, that the version 2 template is not compatible with V1.x. If you are current customer and you would like to upgrade your site you should be ready to upgrade you template or switch  to the new default one.

Please note, that right now we take only fresh installs, so you should be either a new customer or willing to start your site from scratch. Beta upgrades will become available sometime next week.

New OWS Deals/Coupons Website Script version 1.3.5 has been released.

1. New Datafeed server integration with multiple profiles support.
2. Datafeed timeout setting/fix for slow or time limited servers.
3. Deals from the datafeed could be imported as approved or could be manually reviewed before publishing

11. smarty and jquery has been updated to the latest.
12. Numerous speed  enchantments and bug fixes.

My usual answer is ASAP, which is actually correct.  The best time is now when the economy is in a recession more and more people are starting to look for coupons online instead of driving to the nearest mall.

But …There is also a thing called “Winter holydays shopping” which happened every November-December. If you start your Deals/Coupons website right now you still have six month till November to promote your site.  Six month is enough time to put some good content,  become well indexed in all major search engines and do some link building to improve you ranks.  This is the time that you need to bring your site to its full power, so you can make some really good money on this “Winter holydays shopping” spree.
